In 2025, based on high recognition of its initiatives for the environment, society, and governance (ESG) areas, Daito Trust Construction Co., Ltd. (head office: Tokyo, Japan) received its first-ever AA rating—a rank higher than the previous A rating—from the MSCI ESG Ratings, a global ESG investment indicator.
The MSCI ESG Ratings evaluate a company’s ability to respond to its industry-specific ESG risks and opportunities based on seven grades, from CCC (the lowest) to AAA (the highest), determined through comparison with peers in the same industry. These ratings are applied to select stocks to be included in ESG indices used by institutional investors such as Japan’s Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF).
In addition to strengthening management ethics and enhancing governance systems by adopting a clawback clause and other measures, we have made ongoing improvements in each of the ESG areas. Examples include efforts to achieve a decarbonized society, respect for human rights in the supply chain, and promotion of human capital management. All of these initiatives have contributed to this high rating.
Our stock has been selected as a constituent of the MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index, the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index, the S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index, and the Morningstar Japan ex-REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index, each of which is used by the GPIF.
