From April 2026, Daito Kentaku Leasing Co., Ltd. (head office: Tokyo, Japan) will add the languages of Indonesian, Nepali, and Burmese to expand to nine the languages in which its foreign language support center provides services. This expansion will enable the center to provide brokerage and support for rental properties to approximately 90% of the 3.956 million foreign residents of Japan*.
The foreign language support center’s full-time staff members provide consultation and support services in each language by telephone, email, SMS messages, and other means to help foreign residents who may feel uncertain about their Japanese language skills live in rental residences with peace of mind.
When the foreign language support center initially opened in 2016, it provided support to foreign residents of Japan in five languages, English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese. In 2018 it added Vietnamese, taking the total to six languages.
As of June 30, 2025, residents in Japan from Indonesia, Nepal, and Myanmar increased by 277%, 217%, and 334%, respectively, compared to June 2022. The current expansion of available languages is intended to respond to this trend.
