On August 12, 2025, at the University of Singaperbangsa Karawang (UNSIKA), a national university in Indonesia, Daito Trust Construction (head office: Tokyo, Japan) will hold the Daito Trust Specialized Course (“Course” hereinafter), a program intended to train construction management engineers. An opening ceremony was held in Indonesia on August 4 to launch the Course.
The Course is intended to secure capable human resources from overseas in response to the challenge of securing human resources in Japan. The curriculum will include classes on preparing for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and First Class Building Operation and Management Engineer certification, as well as classes to impart familiarity with Japanese culture and industry. The goal is to lay the foundations for students to have successful careers in Japan. Student applicants who pass the initial screening will be enrolled in the class on preparing for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). Secondary screening is planned for students who pass the JLPT at level N2* by March 2027. Those who pass the secondary screening and receive provisional offers of employment will undergo more specialized classes before arriving in Japan in December 2027. On their arrival, they will join Daito Trust Construction under employment conditions comparable to those for employees hired in Japan and engage in construction management work.
We are striving to secure global human resources through various efforts, including hiring graduates of Tashkent State Technical University in Uzbekistan. This course, our first specialized university course, is intended to broaden the pool of capable global human resources while contributing to the growth of the construction industry by developing and drawing on human resources from around the world.
*Of the five levels of the JPLT (N1 through N5, in order of high to low difficulty), N2 indicates understanding of Japanese in everyday use and some understanding in a wider range of contexts. In December 2024, 33.1% of JPLT test takers passed the N2 level.
